About Rakabot · Made in Canada

Wet boots. Not soaked floors.

Winter is part of everyday life. Mopping the entryway after every arrival shouldn’t be.

Why rethink the boot rack?

You already have a place for boots. But where does their water go?

Storing pairs is only part of the problem. These everyday limitations inspired Rakabot.

Illustration of boots on an entry mat

The soaked mat

It absorbs water—until it is saturated. Soles stay on a wet surface.

Illustration of stacked solid boot trays holding water

The pool

The tray catches water, but boots sit in it. Emptying it means removing the footwear first.

The drip-through rack

Shelves free up floor space. Open slats also let water drip onto the pairs below.

The floor takeover

More pairs mean more trays on the floor. The entry fills up without separating soles from water.

Illustrations adapted from Rakabot visuals.

Illustration based on the Titan rack: water follows the shelf and drains into the removable container. Retouched close-up based on the real Titan: drainage opening at the bottom of the metal channel.

The difference is in the drainage

Water has its place. It’s not the floor.

  1. An inclined shelf catches water from footwear.

  2. The channel directs it into the container.

  3. Empty the container without moving the entire rack.

It started with a real problem

An idea born from a busy family’s everyday arrivals.

As an engineer and a father, Sébastien Lassonde knew wet, crowded entryways well. Rakabot grew from that experience: boots didn’t just need somewhere to go. Their water did too.

The answer was a rack that gives water a path, from shelf to container. A simple idea for coming home—and for spaces where everyone arrives at once.

Today, the same idea serves homes, daycares, clinics and businesses: separate footwear from water and make everyday upkeep simpler.

Recognized design

From an entryway problem to design recognition.

Design is about more than appearance. At Rakabot, it starts with a practical question: how can we better handle the water boots bring inside?

In everyday use

One idea. Modular design. Very different entryways.

A fitness studio, a clinic or a daycare: the scale changes, but the water problem remains.
